A forgotten Victorian terrace modernised.

The team at Renovation One were able to save this home from complete demolition. By keeping the existing facade and knocking down the rest, pedestrians walking past couldn’t believe their eyes. With the period facade but modern interior and courtyard this home included the latest in green energy construction with architectural building techniques to suit. As nominee for the Master Builders Awards 2009 for Best Renovation $300,000 to $500,000 it was a fitting result for a project that was a challenge to build due to tight access from a laneway at the rear. We were able to deliver to the client a modern low maintenance home for their retiring lifestyle. Although with two clear glass full length windows in their showers this client was never going to be a shy retiring type!

The project features;

  • Solar power. BP 165 watt
  • Sunnyboy grid-connect inverter.
  • Hydronic heating in association with ring main to plumbing outlets.
  • Solar HWS with solar collector on roof.
  • Waterwall Eave, watertank.
  • Adelaide honed black granite. Pyrenees quarries.
