The Periscope House.

This unique design from architect Craig Byatt and intricate construction from Renovation Oneis destined to be an eye catcher for years to come. Whilst the centre piece of the extension is a 4.0 metre tall mirrored periscope that projects the city skyline into the client’s living room, it also captures the natural elements of the sun and cleverly uses the same periscope to direct internal warm air to the outside of the house in summer. The thermal mass of an insulatedpolished concrete slab neatly abuts the internal ironbark floorboards which run at right angles to the original baltic pine. Recycled and reclaimed timbers throughout the new works further strengthen Renovation One reputation as a Green Living Builder.
